Watch this girl eat live squid squirting black ink at Thai market
A bizarre dish is turning stomachs at a Thai food market - live squids that squirt black ink when their heads are bitten off.
The molluscs are served with spicy chilli, garlic and lemon sauce dip for 50 Baht (1.43 USD) at the Jodd Fair market in Bangkok, Thailand.
Footage shows visitor Nong Belle, 22, tucking into the snack by dipping the live creature into a shot glass full of hot sauce then taking a bit bite out of its head.
As her teeth sank into the rubbery flesh, the creature sprayed black ink believed to add extra flavour to the spicy seafood sauce.
The squid's raw flesh and fresh ink is said to pair well with the green-colored dressing, giving the exotic dish an overall sweet taste.
However, despite the squid sashimi's popularity, safety concerns have been raised as the animal, which has not undergone preparation, could still be carrying bacteria and parasites.
Belle said: 'It tastes like normal squid sashimi but it's like there's something alive in your mouth. Though it's very juicy and it's actually delicious. I recommend it.
'The sauce is actually really, really nice when you eat it with the seafood. It mixes with the garlic, chilli and lemon together with fish sauce.'
