A nurse on strike outside St Thomas' Hospital in London on Thursday (December 15) said nurses can't be treated like "second-class citizens".

In an interview, he said "I think it's important that nurses aren't treated as second-class citizens" and, in relation to striking, "As the saying goes, evil happens when a good man does nothing, so you have to stand up and do something otherwise you get walked over and treated like a second-class citizen".

He thought "most patients are going to be supportive" about the nurses strike action.
