A driver was shocked when he took his pickup truck in for repairs - and found a huge PYTHON in the engine.

Wanlop Inkhun, 36, drove to the mechanic's shop where his Isuzu D-Max vehicle was inched forward over the inspection pit on December 16.

Shocked repair workers noticed the massive reptile and called the emergency services.

Rescue officers rushed to the garage in Chonburi province, Thailand, where volunteers from the Sawang Rojana Thammasathan Foundation Rescue Unit first sprayed mosquito repellent hoping that the snake would crawl out from the smell but to no avail.

Footage shows three rescuers helping each other tug the long creature out of the truck as it resisted them.

Driver Wanlop Inkhun, 36, said: ‘I went to the garage for the maintenance of my truck. One of the staff shouted there was a snake under my car. I didn't know about it until it was found there.'

The volunteers spent two hours luring the snake out as it had squeezed deep in the tight spaces of the truck.

At some point, it's body was stuck in the narrow gaps and had to be dragged out as it refused to come out.

However, the diligent rescuers could save the snake without damaging the truck.

Grateful driver Wanlop added: ‘I am very thankful for the officers that helped me. It took a while, but the snake was safe.'

The kind rescuers gave the exhausted snake a drink of water from a bottle and took it back to the forest.
