Giant famous aquarium with 1,500 fish explodes in Berlin, Germany
The world's largest freestanding cylindrical aquarium exploded in Berlin, Germany, this morning (December 16). Two people were injured in the blast that spilled 1 million litres of water.
The AquaDom giant aquarium, located at the Raddison Collection Hotel, was 25 metres high and housed 1,500 fish from over 100 different species.
The hotel was evacuated.
No updates on the fish have been released yet. Police said on Twitter that there had been "unbelievable maritime damage".
The cause of the incident is unknown.
