Two vigilant cops came to the rescue of a man who slipped while boarding a moving train in western India's Maharashtra.

The incident happened at Solapur railway station on December 14.

Video showed the man, later identified as Bhim Nagnath Ingle, tripping and falling while trying to board a moving train.

He appeared to have tried to pull himself into one of the open doors, as another man tried to do the same thing and slipped, pushing Mr Ingle into the gap between the train and the platform.

The first man was eventually able to regain his footing and pull himself inside, while Mr Ingle had to be rescued by two on-hand cops, Amit Kumar Saroj and Mithun Rathod, who pulled him to safety.

Ingle, 54, was travelling from Solapur to Mumbai and fortunately didn't suffer serious injury in this accident.

He thanked the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) staff for saving his life.
