Floridians Turn Out in Droves for a Tuba-only Christmas Concert

Dozens of Floridians turned out this evening at Centennial Park in Venice, Florida, to watch and hear a Tuba-only Christmas Concert. Musician and event organizer Jim Pack said the first tuba-only Christmas concert was performed 49 years ago in 1974. The tuba players performed a wide variety of traditional Christmas music for the audience sitting around the bandstand in lounge chairs. A gray sky and coolish temperatures in the low 70s gave the event as close to a Winter Wonderland feel as you'll find in Southwest Florida. (Note: The scratchy sound in the audio was created by a nearby fountain.)
