Three starving pet dogs left chained inside an abandoned house by heartless owners were rescued in Thailand.

A Siberian Husky, Thai bang kaew, and a Thai ridgeback breed dog were found restrained with padlocks at the property in Songkhla province on December 8.

Footage shows the gentle pooches happy at the sight of the volunteers who arrived to free them.

The pooches were taken to an animal shelter where they will be cared for until they regain their health.

Animal lover group Baan Ma Yim Hat Yai Foundation president Siraphan Ngampromwong said: ‘From inquiring, the owner of this rental house learned that there were teenagers who had been renting it for about a month and had brought all three dogs as pets.

‘But two weeks ago, their contract had been canceled as the teens could not maintain the house. They moved out and left the dogs behind.'

Siraphan added that the villagers told them about the dogs being left in the house alone for months.

She said: ‘The two were allowed to roam outside while one was inside the house. The dogs only survived on food thrown into the house by the locals.'

The house was cluttered with rubbish, such as plastic lunch boxes, soda bottles, and soiled clothes on the floor. A marijuana bong was also found in the bedroom.

The Baan Ma Yim Hat Yai foundation hurriedly took all three dogs to their shelter. They would be put up for adoption later.
