Odesa, after almost ten months of war, keeps the spirit out. The residents are now used to constant shelling and drone attacks but now the city has to deal with living without electricity, and, for many, heat and water. Yet, the Opera theater continues to perform and stages new show for children and adults for the holiday season. Dancers are on fire in La Bayadère and the audience greets the performers with a standing ovation--in a theater that operates on a diesel generator, with a bomb shelter ready to accept the audience and the cast in the case of an air raid.
