A severe winter storm continued to blast prefectures along the Sea of Japan coast on Tuesday, December 20.

Record snow caused vehicles to be stuck on roads in Niigata Prefecture, and the prefectural government requested the Self-Defense Forces to dispatch disaster relief personnel.
