A forgetful wife accidentally flooded her three-storey home when she left the tap on while doing laundry.

Nuch Supanan, 31, came home to find her kitchen waterlogged after she went out for a quick grocery run in Ayutthaya, Thailand on December 12.

She was baffled at first as it was not raining at the time. As she walked up the staircase to find the source of the flood, a realisation dawned on her that she had left the faucet running before leaving the house.

Footage shows the water streaming down the flights of stairs to the ground floor.

Nuch did her best to mop up the mess, but could not keep her careless blunder a secret from her husband.

She said: ‘My first thought was, how do I clean up before my husband finds out? I knew he was going to be very angry.

'It took me hours to clean up the whole house. After what happened, he asked me to never do the laundry again and said he would hire somebody else to do it.'
