This Thai sweets vendor showed how to prepare a delicious Japanese dessert made of glutinous rice flour and strawberries.

Footage shows the sweets maker first wrapping large juicy strawberries in a delectable paste made out of either red beans or green tea.

The ball of fruit and paste is then encased in a blanket of kneaded stretchy rice made from shiratamako, a sweet Japanese glutinous rice flour that melts in the mouth.

The daifuku is finished when the dessert is wrapped up and dusted with cornstarch. The final result is a soft and chewy sweet that is best paired with tea.

Daifuku is a variant of another Japanese treat called mochi, a rice cake which is made with the same ingredients.
