An emergency medical technician (EMT) on strike outside the London Ambulance Service headquarters on Wednesday (December 21) said the NHS is at "breaking point".

Eddie Brand, an EMT who's worked in the London Ambulance Service for 36 years, said staff "can't deal" with the workload, "people are queuing in hospitals ... the NHS is on breaking point" and warned "unless someone does something, it's just going to get worse".

His message to the UK government was "stop trying to destroy our NHS" and "get back round the table" to renegotiate pay.
