A cold stray cat that warmed up inside a car engine but ended up being stuck was rescued in Thailand.

The ginger feline climbed inside the vehicle at night to shelter from the chilly 21 degrees Celsius temperature in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the morning, the hapless creature could not find a way to crawl out until the driver heard it crying and helped it on December 15.

Footage shows the driver trying to reach the weary moggy so he could pull it out using bare hands.

The driver's relative Lily Lin said: ‘It was cold. The night before it happened. The car was parked at night so maybe the cat went inside for some heated bed.

‘We felt sorry for the homeless cat. It ended up being stuck inside.'

The cat was later taken out after almost an hour of luring the creature out. It was unhurt and adopted into the family's home.
