The biggest ambulance service strike in 30 years was hitting Greater Manchester December 21, with paramedics, call-handlers, technicians and other North West Ambulance Service staff walking out in a row over pay. Members of three unions - the GMB, Unite and Unison - are involved, which collectively represent around 25,000 ambulance service workers.
