A little girl broke down in tears when her missing pet cat returned - after being missing for two years.

Warlinda Dzakiyah Sakhi, 8, had been heartbroken when her beloved feline was kinapped by an angry neighbour who disliked pets and dumped him at a market several miles away from the family home.

Miraculously, the clever four-year-old loyal moggie had found its way back home.

The schoolgirl was overjoyed when she returned from classes and saw the feline named Tayo waiting in their living room in West Java province, Indonesia on December 7.

The youngster, whose nickname is Kintoy, could not believe her eyes and instantly became emotional upon seeing her beloved cat.

Footage shows Warlinda crying on the tiled floor while locking the fluffy moggie in a tight embrace. She kept asking her bigger sister if it was really her Tayo during the heartwarming reunion.

Upon first entering their home and seeing the cat, the little girl said: ‘Is this Tayo? Where is Tayo from? Sister, is this really Tayo?'

While crying hysterically, the adorable girl continued to ask, ‘This is Tayo, isn't it?'

Older sister Melani Safitri said: ‘This cat was missing for about two years. We did not expect it. Tayo entered the house through the window. At first we thought it was another cat but it was really our Tayo.'

Melanie added Tayo was cute and smart who could open doors, windows, and refrigerators so her sister was devastated when she did not come home one day.

The older sister added that the mixed-breed grey and white cat went missing because of their neighbour.

She said: ‘Our neighbour confessed and apologised for throwing Tayo into a market far from here.

‘They were uncomfortable and didn't like cats. We tried to look for Tayo but we never found him. Until finally, the cat came home all by himself.'

After the heartwarming reunion, the family took Tayo to the vet.

Melani said: ‘He had a lot of fleas and some of the hair was falling out so we want to ensure Tayo's health first.'
