A drowning man was saved by two firefighters after he fell into an icy river hole in northeast China. A person witnessed the scene and saw a waving hand stretching out of the frozen water then called for help.

Video of the rescue shows the firefighters attempting to save the old man with a tire but failing to extract him. One rescuer is seen jumping into the hole to calm the victim down and prevent him from drowning deeper.

Eventually the man is successfully dragged out of the river with a floating board. The man hasn't sustained any severe injury and is in a stable condition.

A drowning septuagenarian was saved by two firefighters from a hole in the ice in northeast China.

Video filmed in Shenyang City on December 24 shows an emotional septuagenarian struggling in an icy river and two firefighters getting approaching to rescue him.

In the beginning, the firefighters attempted to save the old with a tire but failed. One firefighter jumped into the freezing river to calm him down and prevent him from falling deeper.

Because the old was too faint, he was not able to catch the tire. The rescuers then dragged him out of the river with a floating board.

Due to the timely rescue, the vital signs of the old were stable. This septuagenarian was sent to the hospital for a further check later on.

According to the caller, he/she found a waving hand stretching out of an icy hole 200 meters away and realized that someone fell into the water. Thus, he/she called the police immediately.
