After heavy rain, Wamberal lagoon (50km North of Sydney, Australia) threatens homes with flooding. The local authority uses an excavator to dig a channel between the lagoon and the ocean in order to release excessive water. The local children flock to the natural water amusement park and bring their boogie boards and surfboards so as to surf the outflow. Lifeguards do a great job keeping a sharp eye out for any misadventures. There are also lifeguards on jetskis patrolling the ocean nearby, ready for any emergency.
