A baby elephant was rescued from a kitchen in northeastern India's Assam, Chirang district, on December 27.

Visuals showed the Kuklung forest division officials rescuing the animal, and in the dark. It was also fed a bottle of milk. The baby elephant was also seen walking around in an area surrounded by forest officials. It grunted as it strolled around the area.

Forest officers believe the elephant calf was separated from its herd and followed cows into a paddy field. It then entered a property and sneaked into the kitchen.

The animal was later handed over to officials of the Banhbari range.
