Kayakers save lone pilot from icy creek after plane crash Maryland
Footage shows a police officer in a kayak heading out to rescue an elderly pilot that crashed into an ice-covered creek in Maryland on December 26, 2022.
Two kayakers helped the pilot.
The dramatic rescue was captured on the body-worn camera of Anne Arundel County Police Department officer Elizabeth Myers, who can be seen getting into a kayak and using a screwdriver to pull herself over the ice toward the scene of the crash.
Debris including a plane wheel can be seen scattered across the ice.
A short while later, a Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police boat turned up and pulled the sole occupant of the plane to safety.
The crash happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the morning.
