An attention-seeking pet dog watched his drowning brother get rescued - before jumping into the pool so his master would also save him.

The nine-month-old Doberman named Ibrahim looked on curiously as the ten-month-old American pitbull Stud was pulled from the water on the holiday island of Hainan, China, on December 27.

However, when owner Noi, 24, successfully dragged Stud to safety, jealous Ibrahim deliberately plunged into the water and splashed around like the drowning puppy.

CCTV footage overlooking the hotel resort swimming pool shows the chaotic scene as Noi carried Stud to safety before Ibrahim followed behind him.

Noi said: 'It was hard to keep the two dogs out of the pool. The first one fell and the second dog followed suit. The other people had to help me.'

Both dogs were safe but amused Noi said Ibrahim wanted attention.

He said: ‘He wanted attention that much. It was so hilarious. The pool wasn't too deep so everything was fine.'
