A man in Kaikhali, West Bengal, has installed an incredibly realistic silicone statue of his late wife in his home.

Tapas Sandilya, 65, is seen sitting beside the life-size statue of his deceased wife Indrani.

Indrani's statue was adorned with jewellery she wore when she was still alive.

The statue was made by an artist named Subimal Das, who took six months to complete the work. The statue weighs 30 kilograms and cost $3,015.

Indrani passed away during the second wave of COVID-19 on May 4, 2021.

A man in eastern India's West Bengal installed a life-like silicon statue of his wife in order to reportedly fulfill her last wish.

The incident took place at his residence in VIP road, Kaikhali. The visual was shot on September 27, 2022.

Visual showed the man, identified as 65-year-old Tapas Sandilya, sitting by the side of the statue of his late wife, Indrani. The statue looked very lively and it donned the lady's apparel along with her jewellery. It was installed on a sofa, which was reportedly Indrani's favourite spot in the house. The jewellery that the statue wore is made of gold and it was her favourite when she was alive. The saree, was the one she had worn to their son's wedding reception and is from Assam.

The statue was made by an artist named Subimal Das, who took six months to complete the work. Das had sculpted the life-like statue of Isckon temple's founder, AC Bhaktivedanta Swami in Mayapur. The couple had seen the statue after which Indrani expressed her wish to have one for her should she die before him.

Indrani passed away during the second wave of COVID-19 on May 4, 2021. Tapas began browsing the web to find the person who could sculpt this statue, months after Indrani's death and then assigned the work to Das at the start of 2022.

Visitors often come to see Indrani's life-like statue, which weighs 30 kg (66 lbs) and costs Rs 2.5 lakhs (USD 3015.39).
