Man arrested as six people injured, three seriously in horrifying three-vehicle crash in Birmingham, England

These are the terrible images after three vehicles were involved in a crash in Birmingham, England on Monday night.

The road traffic collision happened on Monday 2nd January evening at 6.10pm.

Six people were injured, 3 seriously including 2 women.

A 42-year-old man was arrested.

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Police confirmed: "We have arrested a man on suspicion of drink-driving following a three-car collision on Lifford Lane in Birmingham. The collision happened at around 6pm yesterday (2 January)...

"A 42-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing injury by dangerous driving.

Our investigation is continuing and he remains in custody for questioning."

Police closed the road for around 6 hours as investigations continued.

Several ambulances were sent to the scene of devastation, a spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 6.10pm to a road traffic collision involving three cars nearby to Worcester and Birmingham Canal, Kings Norton in Birmingham.

"Four ambulances, two paramedic officers and the West Midlands CARE Team attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found six patients from the three cars. A man who was the driver of one of the cars had sustained serious injuries. He received treatment at the scene from ambulance staff.

"Two women who were the driver of and a passenger in the second car had sustained serious injuries. They received treatment at the scene.

"All three were conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment.

"A further three people from the three cars had sustained non-life threatening injuries.

"They received treatment from ambulance staff before being conveyed to Sandwell District Hospital for further assessment.”
