Meet first Adélie Penguin nestling born in Shanghai in 2023
At the beginning of 2023, Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park welcomed its first Adélie Penguin nestling.
A video filmed on January 1 shows a chick hatching from an egg.
The Adélie Penguins breed from October to December, and the Park has prepared for breeding since September.
According to National Geographic, the Adélie Penguin is considered by the IUCN to be a species near threatened. Luckily, its population is currently increasing.
