A bizarre video has emerged from China of a man demonstrating an automatic hair-washing machine he invented after 16 years of experimentation.

The 38-year-old man, Chen Gongke, from southwest China’s Sichuan province, was inspired to create the machine to help his paralyzed grandmother, according to local reports.

After years of experimentation, and taking apart 18 motorcycle helmets, Chen has received a national patent for his invention.

Users can enjoy a completely automated hair-washing experience in just five minutes. The machine first sprays water and shampoo into the helmet attachment. It then gives the user a scalp massage, rinse, and finally blow dries their hair with hot air.
