A wild python was found wrapped around a lamp over a family's bed in Thailand.

The creature was slithering on the lightshade when the little boy Maki, 6, saw it in their home in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Maki ran up to her mum Sakda Yimyam who immediately called the animal rescuers for help to remove it from the bedroom.

Footage shows the volunteers dragging the snake off the lamp using a stick. It attempted to escape, but the team immediately secured it off the tiled floor.

Mother Sakda said: ‘My daughter asked me if we have a zoo inside the house. I asked her why and she said there was a snake on top of the bed.'

The rescuers took the snake out of the home and released it back into the wild on November 8.
