Bare-legged passengers crowded London's Underground network for the event known as the No Trousers Tube Ride on Sunday 8 January.

The gathering, which organisers claim is intended to amuse not offend, has its origins in New York City in 2002, where it was called the No Pants Subway Ride.

London's 2023 event is its first since the start of the pandemic.

It is organised by The Stiff Upper Lip Society and is not officially approved or promoted by Tube operator Transport For London.

While attendees are encouraged to ditch the trousers there are still some rules: no small or see-through underwear and no thongs.
