This footage was filmed and produced 8 January 2023.

The first women's protest of 2023 was held at the Pier Square in Kadıköy, with the call of the "Women Strong Together" group. When the police did not allow the protesters who wanted to enter the protest area with the LGBTI+ flag, a brawl broke out at the entrance of the area. In the action supported by many women's organizations, women said, "In 2023, we will take back the rights we have won in the streets, through the struggle against the rebellion." Women MPs and artists also supported the action. Cemile Baklacı read the press release on behalf of the Women Together Strong group.

The video shows the first women's protest of 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ezgi Karakuş, member of the Women Together Strong group: “At least 327 trans people were killed this year in the world, 95 percent of them were trans women. These are just the recorded ones. We do not even know about many suicides and murders. Trans women face death, violence and harassment on the street. We do not accept the usurpation and prevention of trans people's right to education, housing, right to work, right to access health and transportation.

01:58:27 - 02:21:32
Gözde Korkmaz, member of the Women Together Strong group: “I want to leave police violence behind. I want hundreds of policemen not to be present in every street we roam, in every action we take. I want rent and bills to come down.”

01:27:07 - 02:20:05
Cemile Baklacı: “While the government protects those who perpetrate violence against women and children with impunity, it showed the streets to those who wanted to attack Pride marches, and it was aimed to spread the LGBTI+ hostility through official channels through RTÜK. Obstinacy and rebellion prevailed. Despite all the prohibitions, we did not give up on our sexuality, desires and being on the streets, we were together in the Pride Parade against all-pervading hatred, and we were easy to take action. We have shown that our women's solidarity against the increasing attacks, racism and violence against refugees and immigrants exceeds the limits. The revolt of women against the mullah regime, which started with Mahsa Amini in Iran, swept everywhere. The fire of rebellion, the slogan of "jin jiyan azadi" echoed everywhere, giving strength to each other. Jin (woman), jiyan (life), azadi (freedom)!”
