A funny pet cat has a bizarre habit of always sucking its foot before he falls asleep.

The seven-month-old kitten named Zapp uses his right hind leg as a makeshift baby pacifier at home in Suphanburi provice, Thailand.

When Zapp's owner Wanlapha first saw him do it, she thought the cat's leg was itchy.

But Wanlapha realised the creature was actually self-soothing himself to dreamland when she caught him doing it several times.

Footage shows the dozy Zapp with his paw inside his mouth while lying on the bed. Another clip showed him sucking on his foot while comfortably resting on a chair.

Pet owner Wanlapha said: ‘I wanted to know if other cats do it too. He could only sleep if he sucked on his foot. It was so funny and cute at the same time.'
