A pair of foul-mouthed Australian tourists were kicked off an Air Asia flight to a Thai island after being seen threatening crew and passengers.

The two men were seated on an Air Asia AK822 flight travelling from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Phuket, Thailand, on December 26 when an argumen started allegedly due to a pair of missing headphones.

Footage shows the swaggering duo arguing with staff as they were being ushered off the plane for causing a disturbance.

Other passengers began to applaud but became the target of verbal abuse from the furious Aussies onboard the Airbus A320 single-aisle jet.

The man in a black cap and shirt was heard saying: 'We're not getting off d**kheads.'

His companion in red was also heard interjecting: 'F***king mutts. We'll see youse there, aye.'

The cap-wearing holidaymaker then stubbornly returned to his seat, reasoning to security that he 'was there before everyone.'

However, his arguments fell on deaf ears, and both were eventually booted from the aircraft - but not without making a last throat-slitting gesture at a group of passengers at the back of the jet.

The other fliers were heard erupting into applause when the miscreants were finally ejected. The incident had reportedly delayed the flight by 1.5 before it could take-off.

Kesavan Sivanandam, Air Asia chief airport and customer experience officer, said: 'The safety and wellbeing of our staff and guests is always our number one priority.

'AirAsia has a zero policy for unruly behaviour of any kind, and our staff are well trained in handling situations of this nature.

'Travel restrictions may be put in place at the discretion of the airline for inappropriate behaviour.'

The company has declined to comment further on the matter 'due to privacy laws'.
