A group of fishermen rescued a 12-year-old boy trapped in a frozen river in northern China.

Heroic video filmed in the city of Jinzhong in Shanxi Province on January 9 shows a group of people using a tree branch to pull a boy out of a frozen river.

According to a rescuer named Chen, they heard someone shout for help and ran to help.

The boy may have accidentally fallen into the frozen river when playing on it as the ice layer was thin.

Since the boy was rescued in time, he was not injured.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
