According to locals, on New Year's Day, they will hold a festival to pray for good luck in the year. The selected men will participate in the festival of dancing on embers.
The men would use their bare hands and feet to grasp and toss handfuls of embers into the air. They did not feel hot when touching the embers. Thousands of people joined the festival and cheered on the men.
