A family was terrified when a giant large king cobra slithered through their kitchen.

Paphawit Muangkaew recorded was horrified when he walked in on the chunky 14ft long beast at his home in Trang, southern Thailand on January 8.

The deadly reptile moved around the kitchen across different kitchen utensils and condiments. It then disappeared under a shelf and out of the building.

Paphawit said the snake was so big it resembled a hose from a fire engine. He added: 'A cobra as big as that that could easily kill someone. I've never seen such a big snake.'

The cobra is believed to entered the family's property from nearby woodland.

Researchers found that 7,000 people are treated for snake bites each year in Thailand. Suchai Suteparuk from the Division of Toxicology at Chulalongkorn University reported that 30 of those die, with cobras being the biggest killer.
