Stunning timelapse footage has emerged of a cloud inversion in the Lake District, UK.

The video, shot on Sunday, shows the low clouds at Grasmere. The filmer wrote online: "The recent spell of sunny autumnal weather has led to some stunning cloud inversions over the Lake District in recent days.

"The mist forms over the surface of the lake, and as the sun rises, so does the bank of cloud, always moving, lifting but gradually burning off as the suns rays warm up the air."

This inversion was shot over Grasmere in the Lake District overlooking the lake from the nearby Loughrigg Terrace. The second part of the footage shows Grasmere island gradually emerging from the mist.
