This is the heartwarming moment a kind resident saved a sparrow stuck inside a rat trap.

Sorravit Sakoolcharoen spotted the little bird when it landed inside the bedroom window to eat parrot seeds in Bangkok on December 26.

However, the creature panicked when Sorravit stood up from his chair. It flew around the room while looking for a way out until it hit the wall and fell into a rat trap.

Being a pet parrot owner and enthusiast, the resident helped the sparrow and nursed it back to health.

Footage shows the bird's head caught in the trap. Another clip showed the bird being cleaned off after it was pulled from the device.

Sorravit said: ‘I pulled him out from the trap and checked how bad it was. He couldn't fly because the feathers were stuck together.'

The resident bathed the bird and cut some of the feathers out. He placed the bird in a cage until it was ready to fly again.

The bird enthusiast added: ‘This sparrow always comes into my home to eat my parrot's food. It knows how to get in and out.

‘I placed it in a cage to rest and let it leave when it was ready on the same day.'
