The Mount Marapi observation post in the city of Bukittinggi noted that there had been more than 150 eruptions. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Sumatra Province reminded residents to increase their vigilance.

Head of Emergency and Logistics BPBD W Sumatra, Rumainur said:
"We received news that Kerinci also erupted. Even the eruption of the kerinci is much higher. But it's the same with Marapi, so far there hasn't been any movement or evacuation of the people..etc..”

Residents are asked to be vigilant and not approach the mountain at a radius of 3 kilometers from the crater or from the peak.**
