A Big hungry Brown Trout waits for food to arrive, and reacts swiftly to a leaf and then a salmon smolt: still hungry.
I just spotted this huge, wild Brown Trout (Salmo trutta), in a crystal clear stream and carefully placed the camera to not disturb it. It was waiting patiently for food to arrive in the current, and reacted swiftly to anything that looked edible - including a yellow leaf and later to a small salmon smolt upstream. Such graceful swimmers, and such a treat to see it in it's natural environment doing it's natural, instinctive thing. A delight to watch and witness.
