Amused locals are visiting this bizarre penis-shaped rock 'to improve their performance in bed' in Indonesia.

The bizarre stone, which has been nicknamed 'penis rock', was noticed jutting out from an islet in the Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Unesco Global Geopark area in Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

The natural stone formation - a product of decades of erosion and weathering - resembles a man's genitals and can be found near the Cikepuh Beach.

Tourists have also been vising the rock, which is only accessible by a perilous boat journey close to the jagged rocks.

Footage shows men craning their necks to get a snap of the rare natural formation on Sunday, January 15.

Andri Hidayana, a member of the Sukabumi District legislature, said: 'This stone has been around for a long time. It may have been formed thousands of years ago and local people call it a penis rock.

'There are myths surrounding it. Maybe a week or once a month, many visitors there perform some kind of ritual. It is said that men who visit there will become 'mighty men' in bed.'

Women also come to the phallic-shaped stone to pray they meet the man of their dreams.

Tourists can visit the attraction by taking a 30-minute boat trip from the nearest beach.

The area is famous not only for the unusual stone penis but also for the surrounding diving attractions and underwater scenery, Andri said.
