At least 5 people were killed after a chemical factory exploded in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Panjin in Liaoning Province on January 15 shows the explosion in Haoye Chemical Factory shattering the glass window of a nearby house and terrifying a couple of cows.

The closed doors of a hair salon were also pushed open by the blast wave.

Massive flames and thick smoke were seen rising up from the factory.

According to reports, the explosion happened when the alkylation plant was being repaired.

At least 5 people were killed, 34 were injured, and 8 were missing.

2023年1月15日13时25分，辽宁盘锦市盘山县浩业化工有限公司烷基化装置维修过程中发生爆炸起火。经初步核实，已造成2人死亡，12人失联，4人重伤，30人轻伤，伤者已入院治疗。目前，火势已得到控制，余火处于稳定控制燃烧阶段，关联装置、罐区处于受控状态。生态环境部门及时对企业周边空气质量进行动态监测，各项指标正常。

据事发时多个视频显示，爆炸发生时强大的冲击波导致附近民房的玻璃被震碎，有牛受到惊吓跳出圈外，一家发廊紧闭的双门也被冲击波推开。爆炸时升腾起巨大的浓烟，导致工厂内一片狼藉，燃烧起熊熊大火。附近居民的窗户被炸掉，屋内也面目全非。有工人从现场逃出，随后被送往医院救治。

据资料显示，盘锦浩业化工有限公司成立于2012年5月，注册资金为5.5亿元，固定资产100亿元，公司主要生产国VI、京VI标准成品油、高等级道路沥青、石油焦、异辛烷、丙烷、丙烯、芳烃类等产品。
