A car was ignited after a boy sneaked inside the vehicle to light a firecracker in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Ganzhou in Jiangxi Province on January 11 shows a boy climbing into a parked car with its door open and igniting a firecracker in the backseat.

He then closed the cat door and ran away as the smoke rose up from the car.

In another video, firefighters spray water to try to put out the fire coming out of the car.

The local police have contacted the boy’s parents and compensation is being negotiated.
