An unusual level crossing sees a train intersect a road diagonally so it appears to be gliding along the surface.

The massive diesel locomotive travels along a 50-metre stretch of the intersection as cars wait on either side. The length of the tracks means there is no physical barrier.

Instead, almost indecipherable coloured markings on the ground show where pedestrians and motorcycle riders can cross.

Two workers also appear with small metal barriers and red flags to hold up cars when the locomotive from Bangkok is approaching the crossing in neighbouring Samut Songkhram province in central Thailand.

The train appears four times a day, creating an unusual sight for motorists and locals living nearby.
