Woman horrifies TikTok users with contents of filthy fridge left unopened for THREE years
A woman has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video of herself cleaning a fridge which hadn't been opened for three years – leaving viewers horrified by what's inside.
Auri Kananen, 29, from Tampere, Finland, has racked up 8.5 million followers who love her cleaning videos and have dubbed her the "Queen of Cleaning".
A recent clip shows her cleaning a fridge which hasn't been touched for three years – racking up a huge 71 million views and 4.4 million likes.
Using just gloves and a face mask for protection, Auri opens the fridge and finds it full to the brim with mouldy food.
She then proceeds to pull out all the individual items, which included a decomposing carton of eggs, a packet of ham which has turned brown, and a carton of yoghurt coated in a brown liquid.
After emptying the contents of the fridge, she scrapes a thick brown sludge off of the bottom trays and scrubs the remainder.
While she was able to get the fridge looking almost brand spanking new, viewers were left horrified by the state she found it in.
"Not me holding my breath," one person said.
Another person wrote: “I'd be wearing full protective gear before cleaning this."
"I held my breath watching this even though I knew I couldn't smell it through the phone," added someone else.
Someone else wrote: "I would throw the whole fridge away."
Auri has been cleaning people's houses for over two years, offering her services for free to help those who are struggling with mental health issues.
"The homeowners were hoarders and the fridge hadn’t been opened in three years and it wasn’t even on anymore,” Auri said.
"Since they hadn’t been able to access the kitchen in three years, the food in the fridge was over three-years-old.
"When I opened it, it didn’t smell as bad as you would think.
"But it was so interesting taking the stuff out since everything was so mouldy and old.
"There was a bag of salad that had turned into brown liquid and I thought that that was quite cool.
"Obviously the bottom of the fridge was so lovely and dirty. It was the best fridge I have ever cleaned."
Auri also revealed how she tackles such extreme cleans.
She said: "At first I always take a good glance around and see all the wonderful things I can find under the trash.
"It’s like going to the restaurant and taking a good look at the menu and thinking about all the delicious things you’re going to eat, that’s how I feel about cleaning!
"Then I start by collecting the trash, then I usually clean the kitchen or bathroom, depending on which one is the dirtiest.
"Lastly I buy some nice things for the tenants."
