'I got cancer, then my partner left me – now I'm auctioning off my WEDDING DRESS to pay for treatment' Part 1
A model who has cancer has been left with no choice but to auction off her wedding dress after she said her partner abandoned her.
Lucero Vega has lost her hair after undergoing chemotherapy.
However, just two months after receiving her breast cancer diagnosis, the 24-year-old claims that her partner left her.
It has left her to fend for herself whilst battling the disease.
In a bid to help fund her cancer treatment, she decided to start a raffle - which included auctioning off her wedding dress.
Lucero, of Querétaro, Mexico says she has been left feeling empty by the whole situation and that she was excited to start a family with her partner.
"I felt an emptiness at first because I saw a family with him," Lucero told NeedToKnow.Online.
"I went to freeze my eggs with him because he really wanted a family by his side.
"He supported me at first but then he was very rude until he left me."
Since her diagnosis, Lucero has been sharing videos on YouTube about her journey.
In the videos, the model revealed that she and her partner separated after her illness became too difficult for both of them.
She clarifies that he was not a bad person, and despite the break-up being difficult to take in, she understands that people don't have to help her.
On top of her diagnosis and her partner leaving her, Lucero's father was also diagnosed with cancer.
This is another reason why Lucero was inspired to start the raffle, which included items such as her wedding dress and a 2001 VW Golf.
On 23 December, Lucero received her eighth and final round of chemotherapy, however, she said she still has a long road to recovery.
She added: "What people have to understand is that with cancer, it is a very long process.
"As soon as the first phase of chemotherapy is over, surgery, radiotherapy and hormone blockers are needed.
"I will be receiving treatment for approximately five years."
Although she hasn't sold all of her raffle tickets, Lucero hopes more people will begin supporting her as she continues to fight cancer.
