Tourists slid down an icy slope after snowfall at Mount Heng Scenic Area in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Hengyang in Hunan Province on January 15 shows tourists sitting in a line on the icy slope to slide down, turning it into an ice rink.

According to reports, the tourists visited the scenic area to see the rime which is the ice formation on trees.

Some tourists were reportedly knocked over by the people sliding down.

A scenic area employee said: "The road is banned for skiing or skating but some young tourists still did it and we could not stop them."

The video was provided by local media with permission.

1月15日，湖南衡阳，南岳衡山景区雪后出现雾凇奇观，不少游客来此观赏雾凇，由于山顶附近的斜坡路段结冰，一些游客将此当成溜冰场地。现场视频显示，有游客在下山时因为翻滚跌倒滑下山路，一些游客被滑行的人撞倒，部分游客甚至组团把结了冰的路面当成滑雪场。
1月16日，景区一名工作人员回应：“景区有预案，也进行了提醒，路面禁止滑雪滑冰，不排除确实有一部分年轻游客（滑雪滑冰），他要滑一下，也喊不住。”
1月16日，南岳区应急管理局工作人员表示，当天由于突然降温，景区12点前便关闭售票，现场由于人流量大，路面确实可能出现人撞人的情况，目前了解到的信息，接警中心并未接到报警，是否有人员受伤，还需要进一步调查。
