Coal mining begins in Lützerath, Germany amidst activist unrest
Hundreds of climate activists who have barricaded themselves in a protest camp on the site of an abandoned village in western Germany have said they are prepared to risk their lives to prevent it from being mined for coal.
This footage illustrates the first excavator starting the process of coal mining in Lützerath, Erkelenz, Germany, so far, the activists are not taking any action. The police are on duty on the spot to control the situation.
