A dog was rescued after it was found chained up outside in the snow in the Russian city of Zlatoust.

Footage from January 12 shows a local removing the chain from around the canine's neck before attempting to pick the dog up.

After being taken to a vet, the dog was diagnosed with severe frostbite and is in a serious condition.

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee, Vladimir Burmatov, said that the dog must first be resuscitated and then rehabilitated.

An unknown person put the dog on a chain and left it in the snowy, frozen city of Zlatoust. The dog was found by the locals. The pet was taken to the vet, and the doctors recorded severe frostbite. According to preliminary data, the condition of the animal is serious.
