A lucky rider dodged a pickup truck that spun out of control - hurtling toward him as he carried groceries.

The young lad was about to climb onto his parked motorcycle when the blue truck careened towards him in Udon Thani province, Thailand, on January 10.

He quickly leaped away to escape being hit by the vehicle, which knocked over his two-wheeler.

CCTV footage shows the swift man using his quick reactions to evade the oncoming truck. A foreign Western pensioner then climbed out from the passenger seat while his female companion walked out from the driver's seat.

Seafood shop owner Charhun said: 'It happened at night after the rain. The motorcycle rider was so lucky. He was only seconds away from being crushed by the truck.'

The foreigner appeared to have called the woman in the driver's seat to take a look.

Meanwhile, the female driver reportedly said that the road was slippery so she lost control of the vehicle.

The woman apologised to the rider and agreed to pay for the damage to his scooter.
