Boy aged 13 stabbed with life-changing injuries in Birmingham city centre close to New Street Station

Police have launched an investigation after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed.

The victim received “potentially life-changing injuries” after he was attacked at around 4.40pm on Wednesday 18 January in Birmingham, England, close to New Street Station.

West Midlands Police officers stopped people using 'The Ramp’ , as it is known locally, where the attack happened in the city centre.

Cops were seen inside the Premier Inn and police forensics officers shone torches and took pictures close to a McDonald's Advertising board.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We were called after a teenage boy was stabbed in Stephenson Place in the city centre, shortly after 4.30pm today.

“The 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

“We will have more officers in the area tonight to offer reassurance to the public.
