A motorcyclist narrowed avoided two oncoming trains at a level crossing in Meja Tehsil, Uttar Pradesh, on January 9.

CCTV footage shared by the local railway police shows the motorcyclist attempting to cross the track despite the barriers being down.

The biker throws his motorcycle on the ground and runs back after realising two trains were speeding toward him.

His bike was hit by the second train.

Railway police officer Bhushan Tiwari said: "He will be traced and a case will be filed against him for breaking the law."

This was the terrifying moment a train crushed a bike while its rider had a narrow escape at a railway crossing in India. The incident occurred at Meja tehsil near Prayagraj city in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The rider was filmed by a CCTV camera trying to cross the tracks though the boom barrier had been closed to let the trains pass.

The rider can be seen ducking the barrier and trying to push his bike across the tracks. He sees a train too close to his comfort and flees. The train seems to miss his bike which the rider had abandoned on the tracks in panic. But before he can retrieve it another train comes on the adjoining track and runs over the bike.

Though the pilot stopped the train the bike was destroyed to be of any use.

Eyewitnesses said the rider had probably failed to hear the approaching train as its noise was drowned by the traffic at the crossing.

A Railway Police official Bharat Bhushan Tiwari said the rider fled after the incident. “He will be traced and a case will be filed against him for breaking the law,” he said.
