CCTV footage from January 15 shows how bumbling bank robbers had to dump cash on the road to stop a police chase in Korutla, India.

Four suspects broke into a State Bank of India ATM machine and robbed over Rs 19 lakh in cash.

Before they could get away, a police patrol team, which was alerted by an alarm, rammed the getaway car with their car.

Though the thieves managed to escape, another police patrol vehicle chased them.

CCTV footage shows the thieves returning to the very spot where they had struck and dumping cash right in front of the bank.

Police officials said the bank robbers turned back after realizing that they were heading in the wrong direction. They also dumped the money in a bid to stop the police from chasing them.

When the money was gathered and counted at the station, police found that thieves had dumped nearly all of the money they had stolen. The thieves however proved to be a little lucky as they had to again pass by the police car which had struck them.

But the car had been abandoned by the police, as it had developed a snag after the collision. A special squad has been formed to nab the four bumbling thieves.
