2023 Cape Town Met entrants do beach training
Cape Town, 20 January 2023: Horses entered into the 2023 Cape Town Met Horse Racing competition this morning trained on Sonwabe Beach near Muizenberg. The horses are brought out to the beach every year just before the big race to enjoy the ocean and frolic on the beach with owners, trainers, jockeys and the media in attendance. The race will take place on Saturday 28 January at Kenilworth Race Course.
MJ Byleveld, a former Cape Met Champion was in attendance to watch the horses and give his assessment of this year’s race and the entrants. Byleveld said there is stiff competition amongst the contestants and also said the horses love the beach training.
